U.S. offers new $5 mn reward for Mumbai attackers

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday marked the tenth anniversary of the deadly series of terrorist attacks in the Indian city of Mumbai with a pledge to bring its authors to justice.

On the 10th anniversary of the Mumbai terror attack on Monday, the U.S. state department's Rewards for Justice (RFJ) Program has offered a new reward of up to US$5 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction of any individual who was involved in planning or facilitating the 2008 Mumbai attack.

In 2012, the Department put a bounty of $10 million on LeT founder Hafiz Mohammad Saeed and $2 million on his deputy, Hafiz Abdul Rahman Makki.

In Mumbai, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and part of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, laid a wreath at the Police Memorial which was constructed to honour the policemen who were killed in the attack.

Timed for the tenth anniversary of the 2008 Mumbai attack on Monday, the U.S. government has announced a $5 million-bounty covering all the terrorists connected with it.
