She also said it was nothing like Hillary Clinton's use of a personal email server, something for which Trump's father-President Donald Trump-slammed the former Democratic presidential nominee.

Ivanka Trump has defended her use of a private email account, insisting it can not be compared to the controversy over former secretary of state Hillary Clinton's private email server and that "Lock her up!" does not apply to her.

In an interview with ABC she defended the usage, saying that she wasn't sending important work emails.

"There really is no equivalency", she said.

Ms Trump said all of her emails were "stored and preserved".

Hillary Clinton once more dodged a question on Tuesday about whether she will run for USA president in 2020. "We all receive content to those email, and there is no prohibition from using private email as long as it's archived and as long as there's nothing in it that's classified".

"There is no restriction of using personal email", she added.

Ch-ch-check out the clip (below) to hear Ivanka talk emails and make laughable claims that her father is trying to "lift" the country. She says she didn't delete any of them.

Last month, the former US Secretary of State said that she "would like to be president" when asked whether she wants to run again in 2020.

They set up personal emails with the domain "ijkfamily.com" through a Microsoft system in December 2016, after Trump won the presidency and the couple was preparing to move to Washington D.C.

President Donald Trump hung over the 90-minute event, with the Clintons using questions on foreign policy, the 2018 midterms and climate change to slam the President before a receptive audience.

But the controversy has picked up in the interest of Outgoing House Oversight Committee chair Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., who sent a letter to White House Chief of Staff John Kelly last week demanding more information and suggesting it may "implicate the Presidential Records Act and other security and recordkeeping requirements".

"I think, like any other person with a heart, it's devastating to see the images and seeing children put at risk".

Said Trump: "In my case all of my emails are on the White House server".

"Why does Ivanka sound like she smoked a pack or two of cigarettes every day?" one Twitter user asked. The FBI found classified information in some of the emails that were sent or received through her private server.

"I don't believe that's what he said", she said.
