According to the nail association, an employee told them Thomas refused to pay for any of the other services she received, telling CBS New York that the altercation could have easily been avoided.

They then turn to another shopper who is helping her granddaughter escape the clutches of the staff members and start beating her in the back.

Shamile Smiley McBroom added, "Video of a grandmother and patrons being hit with brooms does not deserve service".

The clip was posted on Facebook by another customer at the salon and has been viewed over 200,000 times.

"So I'm at the nail salon and they f**cked up a lady eyebrow and she refused to pay then a fight broke out", said Mercy Maduka, who posted the video. Protesters said they hope the salon will be shut down.

Police later charged Huiyue Zheng, 32 of Brooklyn, with assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harrassment. Both she and the salon's owners agree that she wasn't happy with how the eyebrow wax turned out.

Christina Thomas, 21, of Brooklyn was charged with assault, menacing and harrassment. It's hard to tell who instigated the violence, but it appears to be the workers at the nail salon who are dealing the most force.

An investigation into the brawl is ongoing, and more charges could result, the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office told News12.

According to The New York Daily News, police were also looking to arrest a second employee who allegedly threw liquid on the customers.

The incident happened last week at New Red Apple Nails on Nostrand Avenue near Martense Street.

The fight triggered a protest with dozens of people on Monday, PIX11 reported.

One demonstrator hit a police officer in the back after throwing a bottle.

"We need them to know they can not make any money when they treat our grandmothers like this".

One outraged woman, Jasmine Johnson, shared footage of herself taking part in a protest outside the salon, which reportedly forced it to close for the day.
