Valentino Rossi accuses Marc Marquez of deliberately crashing into riders

Marc Marquez MotoGP 2018: Valentino Rossi's worst EVER crashes revealed

The Argentina GP was unpredictable right from the start with a freaky delay, while the final stages saw a collision between Marquez and Rossi.

"I was comfortable in the battle, I felt I took no risks". "[After the ride-through penalty] I obviously tried to push to recover and, unfortunately, I made some mistakes, the biggest one I believe being with Aleix [Espargaro]", he told reporters.

Cal Crutchlow may have won the Argentina round of the MotoGP Championship in tricky conditions on Sunday, but the main talking point of the weekend was the clash between Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi.

Miller took off from his lonely pole position with Dani Pedrosa on the second works Honda leading the charge behind him and Tech 3 Yamaha's Johann Zarco initially in third - until Zarco had a moment and Marquez pounced.

Alex Rins took third place behind Crutchlow and Zarco.

Race start resumed with all riders, save Miller, relegated several rows back on the grid.

The fast-improving conditions then triggered a mass return to the pits for a change of tyres with only Miller's Pramac Ducati remaining on the grid.

Rossi admits he is scared to ride next to Marquez on the track and confirmed he had words with race director Mike Webb about taking strict action for such infringements.

Sadly, Williams were also-rans in qualifying, with Sergey Sirotkin and Lance Stroll starting tomorrow's race in 18th and 20th. Nico Hulkenberg along with Carlos Sainz place Renault best-of-the-rest with all the eighth and seventh quickest situations.

He was then quickly reeled in and passed by the charging Marquez - who was two seconds clear when he was given the ride-through on lap five of 24, which dropped him down to 19th.

The incident didn't only affect Rossi and Marquez. He was given a 30-second penalty for his reckless behaviour by race officials, meaning he slipped to 18 spot.

A delayed start was announced and Miller was given a five row start on the rest of the field, then as the field up after the sighting lap Marc Marquez staled his Honda and push started it and inexplicably rode against the circuit to take his place on the grid, a move that saw him suffer a pit lane ride through penalty dropping him from first to nearly last.

Marquez collided with Rossi at Turn 13 in the closing stages of the Argentine Grand Prix, forcing the Italian onto the wet grass where he crashed.

Marquez was seen trying to apologise to Rossi after the race, but was ushered away by team staff without speaking to the 39-year-old.

Neil Hodgson, a former sometime MotoGP rider, said Marquez showed "arrogance" in his racing.

"But from Friday morning on, Marquez did this to [Maverick] Vinales, to [Andrea] Dovizioso, to me, and on Saturday morning, and today he went straight through four riders".

Rossi said such behavior created a risky situation, which would only be made worse if others acted in the same way as Marquez, who has won four of the last five world championships.
