Columbia police arrest two after attempted armed robbery

Campbelltown City Police Area Command officers have launched an investigation into the spate of robberies and have identified a man who they will be able to assist with their inquiries. Possible stolen items including money, cigarettes and liquor were recovered by police.

The robberies are not believed to be related, and are not believed to involve the same suspect, said Trent Faris, spokesman for the York County Sheriff's Office. The attempted robbery did not leave anyone injured.

The man drove off in her vehicle, described as a gold 2006 Nissan Altima with Wisconsin plate number 588-GDS, police said.

Police say a man with a handgun walked in just before midnight, threatened the staff with the gun, and then took off with cash.

According to reports, the incident happened on March 17 when the two robbers went into a travel agency in Queens Walk and demanded money.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'6"-5'7" tall and 200 pounds.
