Apple seems to be exploring curved iPhone screens and 'touchless' gestures

HomePod Stereo Pairing And AirPlay 2 Might Arrive With iOS 11.4 As Per Latest Reference iPad Pro 2018 release date, features, specs rumors: Apple to launch a brand new tablet with iPhone X design at WWDC this June

Apple is reportedly working on touch-less gesture control for future iPhone handsets, as well as curved displays. This would involve a screen where the actual middle of the display is lower than the top and bottom edges, resembling LG's Flex smartphone to an extent.

Until now, every iPhone model released has featured a flat screen.

The technology may not be ready for consumers for at least two years, if Apple chooses to go forward with it, the report screen said.

Apple didn't respond to a request for comment Wednesday. In addition to normal touch gestures, iOS could detect when you hover your finger over the screen to trigger some actions.

IS kills 19 regime fighters in east Syria
"The first stage of the deal stipulates that opposition fighters hand over their heavy and medium weapons to regime forces". State television said six buses had left Douma, the only opposition holdout six weeks after the start of the offensive.

The differences between smartphones are becoming more and more minute, so the innovations could help Apple further separate its device from the pack.

The information about Apple's new endeavor to come up with curved displays also seemingly confirms previous rumors that the tech giant will not only continue using OLED for its next-generation iPhones, but also increase the adoption of OLED screens this year. Google has its own take on the tech, secretly experimenting with it within an initiative called Project Soli.

It's still early days, though, so just because the company is believed to be working on these technologies doesn't mean we'll see them in iPhones any time soon, even though they do seem to be like features that one would expect the generational upgrade cycle to yield in the future.

But it probably won't make it on to the next iPhone X, which is expected to land in September. However, Samsung's feature used a motion sensor on the phone's bezel rather than technology built into the display panel.
