Sam Bradford, Mike Glennon signings prove Cardinals are lost — National Football League free agency

2018 NFL free agency: Bills have 'some interest' in QB Sam Bradford Bills Rumors: Sam Bradford, Case Keenum Seen as Options After Tyrod Taylor Trade

Bradford's deal is for one year at $20 million, with $15 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

With the start of free agency just two days away, reports of interest among teams and players will be frequent.

The official opening of free agency begins on Wednesday. His 101.1 quarterback with Minnesota was the best mark of the four teams he has played with. It might not be quite as dire as the one Bradford surprisingly thrived working behind in Minnesota two seasons ago, but it's not that far off.

Bradford signed with Minnesota in 2016 and missed most of the season after undergoing surgery to fix a torn meniscus. The Cardinals had Carson Palmer as their starting quarterback since 2013.

This left Arizona and new head coach Steve Wilks in a bind entering the offseason.

Team-wise, that year also marked the most successful season Bradford has ever enjoyed as a starter.

Jets bring back QB Josh McCown; also in talks with Teddy Bridgewater
But having McCown and possibly Bridgewater could buy time for a top draft pick and create an intriguing training camp competition. ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported the two sides closed on an agreement and NFL Network broke the news on the value of the deal.

Japanese Scandal Could Involve Abe, Roil Markets (EWJ)
Opposition parties have called for Aso, who doubles as deputy premier and is key to Abe's re-election hopes, to resign. A reference to Nippon Kaigi, a prominent right-wing group of which Abe is a member, was also deleted.

The Cardinals needed a quarterback, so going for a veteran makes sense.

He rushed for 134 yards in a win over Tampa Bay and 159 in a win over San Francisco.

The injury was to the same knee that the 30-year-old had twice torn his ACL.

Bradford, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft, is known for his strong and accurate arm but he has struggled with injuries.

During his first season with the Vikings in 2016, Bradford threw for 3,877 yards with 20 touchdowns and five interceptions over 15 games. Injuries have been a recurring theme in Bradford's eight National Football League seasons; he's played in all 16 games once - as a rookie - and he missed the 2014 season recovering from a torn ACL.
