The Russian national previously worked at Berezovsky's vehicle company LogoVAZ and Russian state airline Aeroflot, from which he was convicted of stealing $100 million a year ago.

He is accused of organizing a large-scale fraud scheme, embezzling $7 million from a Russian airline. In 2004, he was sentenced to three years and three months behind bars but was released in the courtroom having served the term in custody.

Russian media said he was granted political asylum in Britain in 2010. In March 2017, Moscow's Savelovsky District Court handed him a second eight-year sentence in absentia for the embezzlement of Aeroflot's funds.

Glushokov is at the top of a list of "fugitives from justice" published by the Russian embassy.
