The special prosecutor investigating how Michigan State University handled complaints about Nassar, who has been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing female gymnasts, is also expect to give an update on his investigation on Tuesday.
Police have arrested William Strampel, the former Michigan State University dean who was Larry Nassar's boss, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation.
Dr. Strampel, 70 years old, was listed as an inmate at the Ingham County, Mich., jail on Monday night.
The Michigan Attorney General's Office is scheduled to hold a news conference Tuesday afternoon, at which special prosecutor William Forsyth will provide an update on his investigation into how Nassar could have sexually abused girls and young women for almost 20 years without the school intervening.
A news conference is scheduled for noon Tuesday.
"Strampel was the dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine, which includes the sports medicine clinic, until he announced a leave of absence for medical reasons in December".
Strampel announced a leave of absence for medical reasons in December previous year. Nassar is serving a 60-year sentence for his federal crimes and was sentenced to up to 175 years in state prison for the sexual assault crimes.

CNN is attempting to reach police, prosecutors and representatives of Strampel for comment.
The Wall Street Journal reported last week that Strampel told a group of medical school students in 2016 that he did not believe the accusations against Nassar.
