Student brought unloaded gun to Lee's Summit North High School

According to AP, Loch Raven High School in Baltimore County was also placed on lockdown on Thursday after a student arrived with a weapon in his backpack that turned out to be a pellet gun.

No one was injured. "The process worked in keeping our students safe".

"Because of yesterday's school tragedy in Florida, we understand there is a heightened sense of concern surrounding this type of situation". "Please know, federal law prohibits us from sharing confidential student information, so we can not speak directly to the consequences the student may face".

The student may be disciplined, the district added.

The arrest comes a day after a former student shot and killed at least 17 people at a high school in Parkland, Florida.
