Ridgefield native Tucker West finished 26th overall in the luge men's singles event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea. Gleirscher won Austria's first gold medal at the luge in fifty years, while Mazdzer took the silver medal. Mazdzer put together two phenomenal runs to climb from fourth to third in runs 3 and 4 to win the silver medal in men's singles luge - the first men's singles luge medal in US history.

Chasing a third straight gold medal in the event, Loch came into the fourth and final run with a 0.192-second advantage over Chris Mazdzer of the United States, who led Gleirscher by 0.020.

Gleirscher had a four-run cumulative time of 3:10.702, finishing.026 ahead of Mazdzer (3:10.728) and.230 ahead of Ludwig (3:10.932).

Luke Rockhold can win the interim middleweight title but Romero won't claim the belt if he wins the fight. Rockhold appears to be in good spirits, though, who took to social media to congratulate the victor .

It's no surprise, Mazdzer's second run was the fastest in that heat demonstrating he was capable of medaling.

He was in fifth place after Run 1 and then moved up a spot to fourth place in Run 2, but it was his performances in Runs 3 and 4 that sealed the deal. But everything fell apart in the final run as Loch looked a shell of his self, unable to control his line down the hill. Mazdzer had previously never finished better than 13th at the winter Olympics. In the final run his time of 47.677, his second-best of the competition, was enough to land the silver.

The leader going into the final run was two-time defending gold medalist Felix Loch of Germany, who was looking to equal the record of his countryman, George Hackl, who finished first in 1992, '94 and '98.
