Currently, WhatsApp serves over 1.3 billion active users worldwide including over 200 million of them across India. For now, the app is available for selected markets including Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the U.S.

Facebook-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp has launched the WhatsApp Business standalone app for small businesses. The company has highlighted few benefits about the application on its official blog.

WhatsApp Business help customers to find information like business descriptions, email and store addresses/websites via Business Profiles. The WhatsApp Business app also has Messaging Statistics to help users review simple metrics like number of messages read.

With WhatsApp for Business you can only use WhatsApp Web on one computer. Confirmed Accounts will also be available once WhatsApp confirms the account phone number matches the business phone number.

People will be able to continue using WhatsApp as usual, with no need to download anything new. Customers will then see these accounts as "Business accounts". For now, the WhatsApp Business App is available for free.

WhatsApp finally announced the WhatsApp Business app for small businesses.

Here, chatbots - machine learning and artificial intelligence powered software - respond to customer messages in Messenger conversations, enabling users to get updates on delivery times and other services from a range of businesses.

I know we've been making a lot of noise about WhatsApp for Business since previous year; well, it's here! Users will still be allowed to block businesses and report spam. It has various additions over the standard chat app such as business profiles and new messaging tools.

The Business App seems like the foundation stone to the bigger enterprise solution that WhatsApp plans to create.

Business Accounts will be marked to let people know that they're talking to a business.

This free-to-install app aims to provide the small business owners an easy way to connect with their consumers. There's been no confirmation of whether or not an iOS version of the app is being produced.
