Insta's new feature will let people see when you were last creeping

Anyone you direct message and follow will be able to see when you were last online, which means only certain people will be able to see your status.

Those you have direct messaged will no longer be able to tell when you were last active on the app - but there is a catch.

Those who can see the activity status will either see you as now active on the app or see the last time that you used Instagram. Then just turn it off in the "Show Activity Status" option.

It's worth noting that if you turn off the status feature, it will stop people from seeing your status - but will also block you from seeing the statuses of other users.

If you disable the feature, you won't be able to see the activity status of others either. I am here instead to alert you that Instagram have decided to make your habit, public knowledge.

We've asked Instagram for comment on whether it thinks the feature should be turned on by default, and how it plans to address users' privacy concerns. Instagram has now started to roll out the feature official for both iOS and Android users.

On the users profile the settings can be accessed by clicking the three vertical dots in the top right hand corner.

Apple Plans Massive Hiring Spree
Bloomberg , which reported the news earlier, said the bonus would be available to employees below a certain senior level. Apple said its plans would contribute more than $350bn to the United States economy over the next five years.

Just like WhatsApp and Facebook.

The Last Active feature can be manually disabled by going to settings.

If you would rather not have others know when you are active or not, it only takes a few simple steps to turn off the activity status.

However, the Activity Status will fuel Instagram addicts' anxiety even more. This feature is still in closed testing mode and might be available to all the users in coming months.

For me, there's nothing worse than that sinking feeling of being on your phone scrolling through my social media feeds (usually looking at pictures of houseplants on Pinterest tbh) and then getting an unwanted DM that you feel you can't ignore.

The app was last updated on January 16, but the recent feature showed up on Thursday.
