QUEEN Elizabeth has given her first detailed account of her coronation nearly 65 years ago, joking that the crown was so heavy it could have broken her neck, while footage has been released of her children, young Prince Charles and Princess Anne, playing under her elaborate coronation robes.
He added: "I think that is one of the reasons why she has chosen the 65th anniversary [of her coronation] to allow us this extraordinary unique access to the crown jewels and for her to take part in helping to bring them to life".
"I make a comment, "It's incredible how red this wall hanging is", and then there was a pause and the Queen would say, 'Well, red is a very strong colour, ' and off we go". "It is sort of a pageant of chivalry and old-fashioned way of doing things really".

She joked that the sheer weight of the crown (1.28kg, which includes 2,868 diamonds, 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds, hundreds of pearls and stone known as the Black Prince's Ruby) meant she was unable to look up or down while wearing it, for fear her "neck would break".
