England's batting falls apart during fourth ODI vs Australia

The reigning world champions are now going through a slump - having won only one out of their last 10 ODIs - and are contemplating revamp ahead of the next year's World Cup.

They do have the capacity for spectacular failure.

Australia's previous best ODI bowling start was 5-17 against minnows Kenya in 2002 and Zimbabwe in 2004.

Pat Cummins claimed that wicket as well as that of Alex Hales for 3 (11) with a nasty off-cutter. At the other end Jonny Bairstow drove eagerly at Hazlewood and edged through to Tim Paine, and in the next over Joe Root's hook shot flew with some precision into the hands of fine leg.

Damp and humid weather in Adelaide had encouraged Smith to bowl first upon winning the toss, even though the hosts rested Mitchell Starc after he played in the first three matches.

But Moeen Ali and Eoin Morgan steadied the ship behind a 53-run partnership before Ali combined with Chris Woakes to partner up for 51 runs.

We look at the good and bad following Australia's three-wicket victory.

Mitchell Marsh (32) and Marcus Stoinis (14) fell in quick succession, so Head moved to more steady accumulation to anchor the chase, only to miss out on a second ODI century when he picked out Morgan at wide mid-on off a Mark Wood short ball.

It's not the three straight losses to England in a one-day series already lost that has been the most alarming thing for Australia.

It was compiled at the request of the US Congress , amid a growing worldwide debate over whether e-cigarettes are safe or harmful. American Heart Association CEO Nancy Brown said it's clear that e-cigarettes need closer regulation and scrutiny.

Meanwhile, England captain Morgan admitted that Australia were worthy winners at the Adelaide Oval but praised the fight his team showed in trying to defend an under-par total.

Australia vs England, 4th ODI will be played on Friday, January 26, 2018.

Maxwell's words provide further impetus to the search for a refreshed approach from the Australian ODI set-up, after the selection chairman Trevor Hohns conceded that a full review of the team's personnel and tactical approach was required in order to be competitive at next year's World Cup.

"We still want to take the game forward. We needed something special to make that happen and it didn't".

Pat Cummins took career-best figures of 4-24 and fellow pacemen Josh Hazlewood finished with 3-39. "The wicket here has been brilliant for a few years with pace and bounce".

"I feel like I have been playing well in the Big Bash but I have been disappointed in the way I have started in this series".

Travis Head top-scored for Australia with 96.

"We were chasing probably 30 too many. batted well but not enough to get over the line".

"From there it's obviously a hard position to win the game".
