The digital currency hit a new high of $11,826.76 a coin on Sunday, according to data from Markets Insider, surpassing its previous high of about $11,300.

Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss-the brothers who tried and failed to gain control of Facebook after alleging that it had been appropriated from them-have rebounded big-time.

Besides being Bitcoin billionaires and rowers, the twins have also come into the spotlight for their legal proceedings with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg as they accused him of stealing their concept of a social network.

YES! Suck it Zuckerberg, the Winklevii are making bank a different thing they probably don't understand! And who's to say the value of Bitcoin won't continue to rise?

Many bet big on Bitcoins and turned into overnight millionairess following recent price surge.

Bitcoin's stratospheric rise follows the digital currency's embrace by mainstream trading platforms

City AM, a UK-based publication, revealed that the Winklevoss Twins are estimated to hold 100,000 bitcoins, given their $11 million investment in 2013. The Telegraph noted that the Winklevoss twins have been long-term Bitcoin bulls. The twins, who went to Harvard and Mark, had invested $ 11 million in Bitcoin four years ago.

The question now is, will they sell?

In August, Tyler Winklevoss stated that Gemini and his partners are focused on providing liquidity and a trading platform for institutional and retail investors.

An increasing number of countries are now getting regulators to look at bitcoin and investing in blockchain, which legitimises the cryptocurrency. The news broke barely days after NASDAQ's rival CME Group confirmed that it will allow Bitcoin futures contracts as of December 18th this year. After all, we already have our first Bitcoin billionaires.

However, it seems Bitcoin's vast popularity is slowly gaining traction among private entities and financial regulators.
