Gale Warning For Irish Coastal Waters Ahead Of Storm Caroline's Passage
A weather warning has been issued for seven counties as Ireland braces itself for Storm Caroline

The weather is expected to turn wet and windy on Wednesday, especially across the north and west of the United Kingdom, before the gales hit on Thursday.
CNR International made the decision as t he Met Office predicts Thursday will see wind gusts of up to 80 miles per hour and large waves. As the storm moved away from the United Kingdom and towards Scandinavia on Friday it would be followed by cold air.
Met Office urged that the conditions could disrupt travel. Strong northwest winds may cause drifting of the snow in places with blizzard conditions possible at times across northern Scotland. "There is a good chance that power cuts may also occur".
Storm Caroline is forecast to arrive in the United Kingdom tomorrow, causing gale winds, snow and freezing temperatures.
"Gusts of 60-70mph are expected quite widely, with gusts to 80mph possible near north-facing mainland coasts and across the isles".
Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, while a loss of power in some areas is also possible.
