Apple CEO Steve Jobs, known for his trademark black turtleneck and plain blue jeans, now has his name trademarked on jeans in Italy. Brothers Vincenzo and Giacomo Barbato made a decision to brand their line of clothing and accessories after learning that the name Steve Jobs, Apple's legendary founder, was not actually trademarked.

Vincenzo and Giacomo Barbato, the 2 Italian brothers at the center of the case, chose to adopt the Steve Jobs name in 2012 when they realized that Apple had never trademarked his name. It became their company name with the logo based on the Apple logo by adding a bite mark to the "J" in Steve Jobs.

Apple's experienced a crushing blow in their recent onslaught of courtroom drama, as the tech giant lost a trademark lawsuit case filed against an Italian clothing company. However, for now, at least, the brothers are free to use both the name and the logo. Also, it's logo is among the most recognised brand logos in the world.

"However, the court ruled that the letter "J" isn't edible and therefore the bite could not be ripping off Apple's own iconic logo, and upheld the brothers' trademark". "The letter J seems 'bitten, ' but it is not, since a letter, as judges have also decided, can not be bitten", they said (translated by Google). Their plans go beyond clothing into electronics, so some day you may be able to buy a Steve Jobs media player, or even a Steve Jobs smart phone. But then, there is a chunk bitten off of it just as with the Apple logo.

"We will still respect the name of Steve Jobs", they said.

Thanks to Steve Jobs, Apple is no longer just a fruit, nor is it only associated with Newton.
