Woman Fired For Flipping Off Donald Trump's Motorcade

The Woman Who Went Viral for Flipping Off Trump's Motorcade Has Been Fired Woman Fired for Photo of Her Giving Trump the Finger
Andrew Cummings | 07 November, 2017, 01:23

She said she doesn't lament her activities, including: "In some ways, I'm improving the situation than at any other time".

The woman was sacked for violating company's social media policy.

Juli Briskman gave President Donald Trump's motorcade a one-finger salute.

But Briskman wasn't wearing anything that connected her to the company when she was on her ride, nor is there anything on her personal social media accounts - where she wordlessly posted the photo without identifying herself - to link her to the firm. "Basically, you can't have contained "obscene" on the social networks".

As for her reason for all that anger towards President Trump, Briskman quite bluntly stated that his love of leisure has been filling her with a growing rage. The anonymous bicyclist became an internet hero in anti-Trump circles, but those 15 minutes of fame have now cost the woman her job.

Ms. Briskman told the website that the consequences for her violation were unfair since another employee was permitted to keep his job after deleting a Facebook post calling someone a "a f-ing Libtard a-hole".

The "middle finger photo" was taken by photographer Brendan Smialowski who was documenting President Trump's motorcade leaving his golf course in Sterling, Virginia.

Her now-former employer Akima LLC caught wind of her Facebook cover photo update and made a decision to fire her. That last part, apparently, was too much for her employer, government contractor Akima LLC.

'As a member of an internal, agency-style marketing team that supports more than 35 government contracting companies, I wear many hats from writer to marketer to WordPress editor and social media strategist, ' writes Briskman.

Bradley Shear, a prominent technology attorney, told The Washington Post that her honesty was her mistake because she self-identified to her employer, which was something it took into account before firing her. "You can't see her face, she is totally unidentified in that picture", he said. She said that they then fired her, escorting her from the building with a box of her possessions. "You might not get jailed for what you say, but you might not get the job you want".

"I'm angry about where our country is right now". Going forward, Briskman says that she may look for a new job at Planned Parents or "an advocacy group that she believes in", reports the Huffington Post. "I am apalled. This was an opportunity for me to say something".

Nope. "I'd do it again", she said.
