North Korea appears to be on an "aggressive schedule" to build its first operational ballistic missile submarine, Reuters reports.

North Korea's last missile test was on September 15 but Lee and Yun did not seem to put much emphasis on the lull, Yonhap said, as they were unable to gauge its intentions.

"I wouldn't speculate on what North Korea's activities are or aren't", White told reporters at the Pentagon Thursday. North Korea has not commented on the defection.

Parasites can enter the body in a number of ways - such as insect bites - but it is believed that many people in North Korea are likely to be infected as a result of contaminated food.

The ministry said the duo also noted constructive roles by countries such as China and Russian Federation in resolving the North Korean nuclear issue, and agreed to strengthen strategic communication with other related parties based on close coordination between South Korea and the U.S.

Pyongyang ruled out negotiations as long as the U.S. continues to conduct military exercises with South Korea.

Visiting Seoul last week, US President Donald Trump warned North Korea he was prepared to use the full range of American military power to stop any attack, but also urged Pyongyang to "make a deal".

Han Tae Song, the country's ambassador to the United Nations, ruled out negotiations with America as long as joint US-South Korea military exercises continued.
