Called daily dose of coffee that will save your liver

Why drinking four cups of coffee a day could help you live longer Drink up: Three cups of coffee a day 'may have health benefits'

The daily consumption of three to four coffee units increases life expectancy according to a review of 201 studies published by the British Medical Journal (BMJ). Scientists at the University of Southampton found a lower risk of liver disease and some cancers in coffee drinkers, as well as a lower risk of dying from stroke.

Well, luckily for them, researchers have found out that drinking three to four cups a day may actually be good for you.

Past researches had also suggested health benefits of moderate Coffee drinking.

However, women at risk of bone fractures and those who are pregnant may not derive the same health benefits from coffee, the research revealed. "But liver diseases stood out as having the greatest benefit compared with other conditions", wrote Robin Poole is Specialist Registrar in Public Health at the University of Southampton, U.K.

Poole's team mentioned that their findings are majorly based on observational data so no definite cause and effect could be concluded, however, their findings support the other latest reviews and analysis conducted on coffee intake. What we can say is that people who already enjoy moderate amounts of coffee as part of their diet are most probably getting health benefits from it, rather than harm.

And coffee drinkers may have healthier livers and better glucose control than non-coffee drinkers.

Reassuringly, harms were not apparent apart from during pregnancy when coffee drinking was linked to low birth weight, premature birth (in the first six months of pregnancy) and miscarriage. Increasing consumption to above three cups a day was not associated with harm, but the beneficial effect was less pronounced.

So, the authors urge that "robust randomized controlled trials are needed to understand whether the observed associations are causal".

This audit recommends ladies in danger of cracks should likewise curtail coffee.

However, drinking lots of coffee has an environmental downside.

As this study shows, some people may be at higher risk of adverse effects, he said, and there is "substantial uncertainty" about the effects of higher levels of intake.

But a year ago the World Health Organisation withdrew its previous warnings on the link between coffee and bladder cancer - and instead said that the drink could, in fact, help protect against certain cancers such as womb cancer and liver cancer.

All in all, however, the benefits seem to outweigh the risks.
