Although there's generally not coffee in coffee cake, it's still a nice companion to your morning cup of joe. She's offering a free small chocolate cold brew ice cream for National Coffee Day, as well as a raffle for all customers for a $50 gift card to the shop. Several retailers around the Garden State and at the Jersey Shore are offering free coffee all day long - while supplies and cups last.

Customers at participating Dunkin' Donuts locations nationwide can purchase a medium, large, or extra large cup of the brand's signature hot coffee and get one additional medium hot coffee for free.

Some participating coffee-makers are asking for coupons, app downloads or BOGO deals.

Pilot Flying J: Get a free cup of the alleged "best coffee on the interstate", or any small hot tea or cappuccino. This means the every Friday, starting on October 13, customers can get a free coffee.

Rather than give out free coffees or offer BOGO ("Buy One, Get One Free") deals, Starbucks is taking a different approach to National Coffee Day. Similarly, on-the-go 7Rewards members can also enjoy one coupon which entitles them to any size of 7-Eleven's coffee from September 29's National Coffee Day until International Coffee Day on October 1.
