The Bachelorette "The Men Tell All" Recap: Like Pulling Teeth

This season was different.

The man who finished the season second place was allegedly inconsolable after Rachel, a 32-year-old Dallas attorney, dumped him. The only person who tried to defend him was the guy who came on The Bachelorette after maybe remembering to text his girlfriend that it was over - DeMario, who himself is indefensible.

I realize how surreal that sounds (not to mention, how ironic how surreal that sounds).

Is there anything you would change this season if you could go back in time?

Do you buy Lee's contrition? The overnight dates in Spain will continue with the next elimination next Monday. "I feel like America didn't get to see their true worth, because they're such fantastic guys", she confessed.

The other contestants didn't know about those at the time, but they certainly did at the MTA. Things boiled over when Chris Harrison read some of Lee's tweets out loud. Chris Harrison shows photos of Lee's tweets - including the most inflammatory one in which he compares the NAACP to the KKK - and Lee says he has a lot to learn. "One has a sense of shame to cover their racist ass faces".

The Lee Garrett vs. Kenny King feud and the topic of racism was discussed frequently on the show and again during the Men Tell All reunion.

US Conducts Successful THAAD Missile Test
The THAAD weapon system, located at Pacific Spaceport Complex Alaska in Kodiak, detected, tracked and intercepted the target. Security Council has clear regulations on North Korea's launch activities that use ballistic missile technologies".

"I have some things I need to fix", he admitted to the audience. Harrison invited the singer-songwriter to the hot seat for a riveting conversation about (you guessed it!) his racist tweets, and even pulled up a few of them for good measure. Thank goodness the other guys aren't letting him off the hook that easy.

Demario gets a standing ovation - and when Demario of all people, whose claim to fame is getting booted from the show for having a "side chick" and following it up with an encore of sexual assault allegations during Bachelor in Paradise filming, is getting applause for challenging your character... you know you've messed up pretty bad. And Josiah, who is very smart, albeit very annoying, gave him a bit of a history lesson. Before that, he used every "I'm not racist" dodge - it was a joke, Twitter formatted it wrong and made his intention unclear, he's changed since he said those things.

Lee's response? That he doesn't like racism.

Anthony is satisfied with this apology, but another black contestant, Will, wants to hear him use the word "racist"; in fact, he tacitly suggests that this is what he needs to hear in order to forgive him. "I do denounce those tweets". "I would have sent him home sooner". Dean, the swoopy-haired hero of this season, weighs in that Kenny was the most liked guy in the house and Lee not so much. "That's something I had to deal with before I made a decision to be the first [black] Bachelorette", Lindsay tells Us.

It seems that, like me, the producers of this particular episode of the "Men Tell All" could tell there just wasn't enough content to fill a two-hour show. This is what one might call the "TV" aspect of "reality TV". "I'm just keeping it real". Lee drama, Rachel addressing the men, and bloopers.

Let's not go overboard.
