Lawyer says Taylor Swift had no reason to lie about groping

Taylor Swift's defense team digs into former DJ in cross-examination to kick off trial Taylor Swift Appears in Court for Cross Examinations on Day 2 of Groping Trial

The trial of a lawsuit between Swift and David Mueller, a former radio host she accuses of groping her, begins Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, in U.S. District Court in Denver.

Her lawyers say she will donate it to charitable organisations who help women who have been sexually assaulted.

Mueller has sued Swift, claiming he is being falsely accused and that he was sacked over her allegation.

Swift is countersuing Mueller, claiming sexual assault.

Mueller also testified that one of his station bosses, Hershel Coomer, told him that he had met Swift earlier before the show and that "he told me that he had his hands on her butt".

Swift was moved to tears during the opening statements.

Taylor Swift shot daggers at a former deejay accused of groping her as he spent a second day on the stand struggling to shake off questions from her pit bull lawyer.

As the pop star's lawyers tried to take the higher ground in the he said, she said case, Mueller's legal team tried to paint their client as someone who just wants to clear his name and recover his lost earnings.

The Denver trial follows a hard 12 months for the singer after a much-ridiculed 2016 summer fling with British actor Tom Hiddleston. Swift has asserted that her representatives informed KYGO management about the incident but that she never demanded Mueller be fired.

Mueller's suit didn't seek a specific monetary amount but an expert retained by the ex-radio host determined that almost $3 million was a fair compensation for damages.

He said it was unfortunate that the initiatives Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken initially with China had petered out. The editorial also claimed that "PLA has made sufficient preparation for military confrontation".

The case is another variation on the "he said-she said" nature of high-profile sexual assault allegations. All are expected to testify during the trial.

After losing his position, Mueller sued swift, saying it was a "humiliating thing to be accused of something that despicable", and that if anything, he had accidentally touched her "ribcage or ribs".

"That's the one and only story we have to tell you - that Mr. Mueller grabbed her rear end", he told the court.

The center of this curious case is David Mueller, radio professional who has worked in stations across Columbus OH, Kansas City and San Diego before becoming one-time DJ for country music station KYGO in Denver, Colorado.

Mueller explained that he and the singer-songwriter were trying to reach around one another, and "our hands touched and our arms touched".

Proceedings have ended for the day at a civil trial involving a groping claim by Taylor Swift against a former Denver disc jockey.

He goes back after Mueller's claim that his knuckles had brushed Swift's ribs, and asks Mueller to recount the "jostling" that took place as they got together during the photo. "It's an assault", Baldridge said.

Attorneys for Mueller and Swift opened the trial Tuesday morning with starkly different versions of what happened at that June 2, 2013, concert at the Pepsi Center.

The 2013 photograph of Swift and Mueller is a key piece of evidence in both lawsuits but this isn't the only imagery causing a stir.
