The FCC listing confirms that the Google Pixel 2 will be manufactured by HTC, just like with the original models.

You can see that, for one, the listed Android version is 8.0.1, with a (yet unreleased) security patch dated August 5, 2017. It's not clear when Google or HTC plan to release the Pixel successors.

GOOGLE UNLIKELY will have many surprised in store when it unveils the Pixel 2 later this year, with an FCC filing outing the handset's specifications.

Google Pixel 2 will have Edge Sensors like we saw in HTC U11, expect that they'll most likely be called "Active Edge" in the next-generation Google device.

"Unfortunately, there's a request for confidentiality pertaining to various diagrams and descriptions, so there aren't any photos of the device", says Android Police's report, but there are still some screenshots from the Settings app with additional information.

With HTC seemingly looking to put its own spin on an officially branded "Google Phone" this time around, the Taiwanese company has turned to its own flagship smartphone, the HTC U11, for some "squeezable" inspiration. Google is working on bringing always-on functionality to the Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL as well.

Furthermore, the Android 8.0 will be supported on all devices which received the Development Preview (DP) milestones, including Google Pixel and Pixel XL, Google Pixel C, as well as the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones and Nexus Player. It's also possible that Google is testing an internal build which will be released to Pixels at a later point of time. Apparently, the upcoming Google Pixel 2 will also make use of this technology via a feature known as Active Edge.

Reports suggest the Pixel devices will come sans headphone jack, but with front-facing stereo speakers. Other intriguing tidbits include 64GB of storage, double last year's 32GB minimum capacity. Google is expected to announce the new models in October, a month after two major players - Samsung and Apple - would have already announced their flagship smartphones.

Expect a cloudy, hot and humid Sunday
At the very least, the morning and early afternoon will be partly sunny and pleasant with just a gradual elevation of humidity. Temperatures, however, will start to go up as highs are expected to be back in the lower 90s by the end of the week.
