Toronto Raptors re-sign forward Serge Ibaka to three-year deal

The Knicks will reportedly pass on offering Raptors president Masai Ujiri the same role in New York viewing the compensation as too costly Knicks passing on Masai Ujiri as new favorite emerges

Point guard Kyle Lowry, the fifth-ranked free agent by CBS Sports, has chose to stay with the Toronto Raptors, his decision coming only hours after Serge Ibaka agreed to a new deal with Toronto on Sunday morning.

The three-time all-star point guard announced his decision in an article in The Players' Tribune.

He will re-sign with them for three years and $100 million according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The 31-year-old point guard fell off a cliff this past postseason, but he remains an elite fantasy option when healthy.

Whatever happens with the rest of the team, the Raptors know what they're getting in Ibaka after paying the fair price of Terrence Ross and a 2017 first-round pick for him at the February trade deadline. President Masai Ujiri has been a wizard navigating bringing back his top talent, ensuring they get paid, but not on crippling terms.

Richie Porte re-signs with BMC ahead of Tour de France
Last year, I was better at the Vuelta after racing the Tour, so let's hope that is the case again after having raced the Giro . That might be crosswinds or a really short climb to the finish where a lot of teams will think they have an opportunity.

"I want a ring", Lowry said. It's possible that the Raptors took this into account and bumped up the annual salary for the three seasons, making it more valuable than something with a fourth year attached to it. If that is the case, one veteran big man on the market could become a target for the Heat: Serge Ibaka. My heart is telling me that this is the best city in the world, with the best basketball fans in the world. "He knows me very well. We'd have been leaving home". Lowry underwent wrist surgery and didn't return until the final four games of the regular season.

Ibaka was dealt from the Orlando Magic to the Toronto Raptors midseason past year, and the Raptors are expected to make a strong push to keep the 6-foot-10 power forward.

The news came several hours after reports that the team was losing gritty defensive specialist P.J. Tucker to the Houston Rockets.

In 56 games with Orlando last season, Ibaka averaged 15.1 points and 6.8 rebounds.
