YI Technology Announces Upcoming VR180 Camera with Google

YouTube CEO Unveils User Numbers, Plans For VR And Live Streaming YouTube CEO announces new mobile, VR features at VidCon

Wojcicki noted that YouTube now boasts 1.5 billion logged-in users per month (on top of all the views that come from viewers who aren't logged in), and that the platform has seen a 4x increase in live video in the previous year. In short, that suggests that YouTube's active user base of 1.5 billion tend to use the website and dedicated app for more than just a quick browse.

On the virtual reality front, YouTube and Google's Daydream unit have collaborated on a new format, called VR180, and on new cameras with partners that include LG, Yi and Lenovo that aim to make it easier for creators to develop content in the format.

If you're a little bit excited, 180-degree videos have started to appear on YouTube.

YouTube says that VR180 videos can be viewed using Google's Cardboard and Daydream VR headsets, and will also be available for PlayStation VR.

Bill Cosby's accuser takes the stand in sexual assault trial
But there she was, making an appearance unexpected by all, perhaps especially by Montgomery County Court Judge Steven T. More than 50 women have said that Cosby assaulted them, but the statute of limitations has run out in almost all cases.

Instead of taking 360-degree video a step further (to 720 degrees?) to try to popularize a technology both content creators and consumers seem to agree is exciting but immature and largely inaccessible, it sounds like Google is actually going backwards.

Last year, Google made it easier to share YouTube videos directly with specific contacts. The PSVR YouTube app was just launched in January. This feature will be launched in Latin America and the U.S. in the next few weeks. As announced, the most popular video sharing platform can now automatically adjust videos taken in vertical landscape or square format to render normally on mobile devices.

YouTube, which in late 2015 launched a subscription streaming platform called Red, has been mum about subscribers' viewership on the platform, but on Thursday afternoon, the company disclosed that its first 37 original series and movies have generated almost 250 million views. Paul, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne and Charlotte will all soon get YouTube TV.

The access has now been opened for VR180, Google's new video format that will forge high-resolution VR videos with what's in front of you. She noted that the service is working on 12 new original programs for YouTube Red.
