Takuma Sato grabs pole for 2nd race at Detroit Grand Prix

Race 1 victor Graham Rahal will start from row two in P3, with his eyes firmly set on becoming the first driver to win both races during the Detroit doubleheader weekend.

"Everything went according to plan today", said Rahal after scoring the fifth win of his career and first on a street course since 2008 at St. Petersburg. Rahal led 55 laps on Saturday to win his first IndyCar race since last August at Texas.

Will Power of Team Penske was third Sunday, giving Chevy a better showing than on Saturday when Honda swept the podium near General Motors' world headquarters.

Josef Newgarden, driving for Team Penske, was fourth in the only Chevrolet among the top seven in the 22-car field.

"I didn't think he had anything for us as long as we could clear traffic", Rahal said of Newgarden. Mikhail Aleshin finished sixth and Helio Castroneves finished seventh in Saturday's opening race. The race featured a total of six lead changes among five different drivers.

"It means a lot to me and I'm very happy", said Sato of his qualifying run.
