It took more than six hours for Arizona to outlast DE 6-5 in 11 innings during Saturday's elimination game at the NCAA Lubbock Regional due to a weather delay in the 11th inning that lasted longer than two hours.

The Wildcats threatened in the top of the second inning, with runners on the corners and one out. Arizona played Sam Houston in game 5 of the NCAA Lubbock Regional on June 4, 2017, at Dan Law Field.

Harp's two-run double gave the Bearkats a 9-4 lead in the eighth before Texas Tech answered with Josh Jung's two-run homer in the eighth and Brian Klein's two-run single in the ninth.

Arizona head coach Jay Johnson (2) argues a call with the plate umpire in the Wildcats' 5-4 loss to Sam Houston State on Friday.

According to Rojas, the team's scouting report on Arizona starting pitcher JC Cloney was the reason he was able to blast an off-speed pitch out of the park. With a runner on second and one out, cleanup hitter Nick Patten blooped a single to centerfield to score Jordan Glover, who had an infield single to leadoff the inning.

An RBI single from Fregia in the first inning scored Riley McKnight and gave the Bearkats an early 1-0 lead, but it was the second inning when Sam Houston really took control. Berglund was thrown out at third to end the inning, but Tech increased it's lead, 6-0. He singled to center on a 3-1 count to score Matijevic and break the 0-0 tie.

The inning continued with Long drawing the one-out walk. DE answered right away with a run in the bottom half of the inning.

One of those came from the arm of right fielder Hunter Hearn in the fourth with the game tied at 1. With two runs already on the board, the Wildcats had the bases loaded with no outs. The Blue Hens got to Ming in the eighth and scored two more runs. The freshman finished with 6.0 innings of work in just his fifth relief appearance of the year, striking out three to pick up his team-best 10th victory of the year.

Arizona starter Cody Deason (5-3) allowed seven runs while facing only 12 batters over 1 2/3 innings.
