NBC moving ahead with Megyn Kelly interview with Alex Jones

NBC defends Kelly's Alex Jones interview Megyn Kelly fights Alex Jones interview uproar, says she will 'shine a light' on Trump ties

The network released a brief portion of the interview, which is scheduled to air on Sunday.

In a statement on Sunday rescinding Kelly's invite to host their gala, the Sandy Hook Promise nonprofit said it hoped she and NBC would reconsider and not broadcast the interview.

Reuters/Brendan McDermidMegyn Kelly defends her interview with Alex Jones. As a presidential candidate, Trump went on Jones's radio show, in 2015, and told his host: "Your reputation is fantastic".

Showtime's four-hour special, "The Putin Interviews", features former KGB head Vladimir Putin palling around with the who-killed-"JFK" director Oliver Stone: " ... why did you bother to hack the election then?" asks Stone.

The story that will air on Sunday is still in production, Lack said, and it will reflect critics' concerns about giving Jones airtime.

Speaking out about the controversy via her official Twitter account, Kelly called Alex's conspiracy claims "revolting" shortly after it was reported that JPMorgan Chase had pulled its commercials from NBC in protest over her impending Sandy Hook interview.

It's just all around silly, especially considering that the real interesting issue to explore with Jones isn't his conspiracy theories, but is whether or not his whole persona is just an act - a claim his lawyers made in court during a child custody hearing.

Earlier this month, a Florida woman who believes Sandy Hook was a hoax was sent to prison for threatening a man whose six-year-old son died in the shooting. On Facebook, Soto's family said the "incessant need for ratings at the cost of the emotional well-being of our family is disgusting and disappointing".

Sessions is appearing before Senate Intel Committee: What could happen?
She said she's trying to keep her focus on helping her father change the status quo. "I'll tell you something about that maybe sometime in the very near future".

"Oh, I know, but they don't get angry about the half a million dead Iraqis from the sanctions, or they don't get angry about all the illegal-" Jones responded before Kelly interjected to say he was dodging her question. "These interviews aren't interesting even in the abstract".

A D.C. gala hosted by families still reeling from the 2012 Newtown massacre went on without Megyn Kelly Wednesday, but with new significance after a congressman and three others were shot on a Virginia baseball field just miles away.

When he tried to change the subject, Kelly said, "that's a dodge".

He said he expected a "rigged" report because a day's worth of interviews will be boiled down to an 11-minute report.

"When you say parents faked their children's death, people get very angry", Kelly said. "It doesn't stop us from doing controversial stories".

The criticism was also coming from Alex himself.

Based on the preview, Jones appears to be preparing to "prove" that Kelly isn't telling the truth by focusing on how the interview addresses Jones's views on Sandy Hook.
