Apple WWDC 2017 Conference Revealed New iMac Models With Intel Kaby Lake

Lori Graves | 08 June, 2017, 11:17

The Radeon Pro 500 Series is aimed at creative professionals like artists, designer, engineers, filmmakers who are anxious as much about efficiency as about all-out gaming performance.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro is now powered by the 3.5 GHz Core i7 Kaby Lake processors with Turbo Boost up to 4.0 GHz, While the 15-inch MacBook Pro is powered by the 3.1 GHz Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost up to 4.1 GHz. Furthermore Apple says the SSD storage options now offer up to 50 per cent faster transfers. This narrative can arguably be traced back to the company's 2013 Mac Pro design and only picked up steam following the release of Apple's 2016 MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar.

15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar starting at $2,399. They are now ready to order on apple.com and will ship from June 7th.

Aside from the refreshes, the most interesting announcement in the keynote for MacBook Pro owners is that Apple is going to begin officially supporting Thunderbolt 3 graphics docks in macOS.

The company also announced an update to its 27-inch iMac model. Apple also verified that the entry level iMac models would have the Intel Iris Plus Graphics which is up to 80% faster graphics than the previous generation. Apple claims that its new A10X Fusion iPad chip is up to 30 percent faster for compute performance and 40 percent faster for graphics, compared to its previous A9X processor.

Apple unveils HomePod, its Siri smart speaker
Apple also released a software kit so developers could infuse augmented reality into applications for iPhones or iPads. So far, the service has limited payments to purchases of products and services from companies and other organizations.

In short, the machines you can now buy from Apple are faster and more capable than the ones you could buy yesterday, with improvements in display technology, graphics power, and processing speed.

The AMD Radeon Pro Vega 64 is expected to provide 22 TFLOPS of graphics horsepower using 400GB/S of memory bandwidth. The high-end 27-inch 5K model is equipped with a Radeon Pro 580 with 8GB of RAM - enough horsepower for VR content creation. But what stole the show is the sneak peek of iMac Pro, described to be the most powerful Mac ever to be made. It comes with 5K Retina display that supports 1 billion colors. The new iMac Pro is touted as "an entirely new workstation-class product line designed for pro users with the most demanding workflows".

The iPad Pro (10.5inch) with 64GB memory and Wi-Fi will cost Rs.52,900, for the device that has 256GB storage, the price will be Rs.60,900 and that for the 512GB capacity will be Rs.76,900.

On the other hand, the price of the Retina-type iMac at the lower end has not been changed but the two higher level models have been priced higher by a marginal Rs.1000 each. The iMac Pro will start shipping this December starting at $4,999.

Other than those small upgrades, the newest MacBook Pro doesn't bring anything else to the plate.
