BC Liberal leader Christy Clark and BC NDP leader John Horgan have been duking it out, interrupting and talking over each other about everything from housing affordability and the economy to the opioid crisis and tolls.
Within minutes of the debate's start, Horgan and Clark got into an exchange after the Liberal leader claimed the NDP's platform was not fully costed and will leave British Columbians with "a $6 billion hole".
The B.C. NDP will shift Medical Services Plan premiums to income tax by the fourth year of an NDP government, party finance critic Carole James says.
BC Green Party leader Andrew Weaver, in contrast, has been sitting politely and waiting for his turn.
In response, Clark said Horgan wouldn't deliver the NDP's daycare plan until most kids in daycare now "have a driver's license".
"But we are equally focused on making sure people get into a home that they own", she said.
Horgan says his promises are affordable and the costs associated with them and the impact on the province's finances are based on figures in the Liberal's spring budget.
The Green Party's plan to address soaring real estate prices is to double the foreign buyers tax to 30%, extend it throughout the province, make the property transfer tax progressive, and prohibit anyone from buying agricultural land over five acres if they don't reside and pay taxes in Canada.

"The people that I talk to on the doorstep want to talk about today".
Clark said the ability to buy a home is linked to employment and the province has been successful at creating jobs.
Horgan also announced an expanded apprenticeship and trades training program under a New Democrat government.
That was at the core of her technical briefing on the NDP's costings that the Liberals put on Wednesday.
Clark told reporters she and Horgan were colleagues in the B.C. legislature.
- Weaver says the party would work with industrial sectors affected by climate change to help them preserve their long term economic and environmental sustainability, and promote best practices; as well as develop an inventory of old-growth forests to determine reserves and protect them.
Weaver said he supports the "craft cannabis" industry and said he envisioned it being similar to craft breweries, where consumers could have their choice of marijuana instead of multi-national corporations dominating the market.
"I think professional electricity planners in that field are better qualified to make the estimates about how much energy we're going to need in 10 years than academics at UBC who are probably not in the field of electricity use at all".
